Catholic Toy Ideas from ABCatholic (And Giveaway)

Catholic Toy Ideas from ABCatholic

While there’s been years when I’m racing the clock to order Christmas gifts in time, usually I’m pretty good about getting all my ducks in a row a few weeks in advance. I love taking care of all the Christmas shopping before Advent starts so that it can be because I need that quiet space in my life.

But to be prepared before Advent starts is tricky because my head’s not really in the holiday game yet. I usually need some suggestions which is why I’m so excited to be partnering with ABCatholic to share some great ideas for Catholic kids gifts!

About ABCatholic

I am all about Amazon shopping, but when possible I prefer to be more intentional about my spending and prioritize ordering from small family-owned companies. ABCatholic is run by three generations working together to create a great outlet for Catholic families with unique, quality products as well as free online resources. Zac Brakefield, the founder, is a full-time firefighter in South Carolina in addition to running ABCatholic and sees the endeavor as more of a ministry than a business.

Shining Light Doll from ABCatholicABCatholic.com carries some companies I already love like Shining Light Dolls. We have several (they’re great stocking stuffers and for Easter baskets) and ours have held up REMARKABLY well over the years considering how much the kids play with them. We love our St. Nicholas.

And serendipitously I JUST met Laurel MacKinnon of another of the brand ABCatholic carries, Sacred Heart Toys, at my recent talk in DC! Small world. They make the adorable plush My First Rosaries.

And ABCatholic also creates their own toys and learning resources available from their site. Because St. Teresa of Calcutta was just canonized and we’ve been talking and reading a lot about her this year, I love that they offer a soft St. Teresa doll.

Catholi

I’m going to give one to my goddaughter for Christmas! I love saints dolls because I think it’s important to bring the lives of the saints into children’s imaginative play. I love the inspiration that a doll like this reminds children that they, too, can be a saint.

Catholic Toy Id

Speaking of saints I listened to ABCatholic’s The Saints Were Kids, Too audio CD with the kids. Just short stories about the childhood of five different saints. The kids loved it and the car was quiet for a few minutes which was heavenly (pun intended).

In addition to the plush Mother Teresa doll, there’s also a plush “Sister Softy” doll and a board book introducing children to the Guardian Angel prayer.

Catholic Toy Ideas from ABCatholic

Would be a great stocking stuffer or gift for a godchild! I don’t know about you, but I start to run out of ideas for gifts for my godchildren. There’s only so many rosaries one kid needs, right? This book would be great.

Giveaway

ABCatholic has graciously offered to giveaway one of their Sister Teresa dolls to a lucky Carrots reader. And my patient international readers, you can enter this one! (Yay! There was much rejoicing!)

Got a child in your life that would love to snuggle up with St. Teresa? Here’s how to enter the giveaway:

1. Mandatory entries: Visit the ABCatholic site and then come back and leave a comment at Carrots telling us which product you’re most excited about.

2. Additional entry: Sign up for ABCatholic’s email newsletter with exclusive discounts. Be sure to leave an additional comment letting me know you signed up (that way I can be sure not to miss any of your entries–can be as simple as saying “signed up!”).
I will choose the winner by random number generator. Giveaway ends on Sunday, November 13th at midnight EST. Good luck, friends!!

UPDATE: A winner has been chosen and emailed. But if it wasn’t you, you can use this promo code ABC10 to save 10% off your ABCatholic order. This code can be used as many times as you would like through the end of the year. Enjoy!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. Review and giveaway items were provided by ABCatholic. All opinions are my own. I only promote products I would purchase myself and I love giving away wonderful things to my readers!

Definitely would have liked to get the Nativity Plush Set. I have a little guy who is great at destroying and we are in need of a set he can touch, but won’t ruin. Since that’s out of stock, I’d say the Nativity Play set or the Pop up mass set would be great.

We are big Mother Teresa fans around here. I would give this doll to my daughter for Christmas, or perhaps for her baptism anniversary later this month. Her name is Teresa 🙂 I went to the web site and really liked the Advent placemats and the Saints were Kids Too series of books. Teresa was Mother Teresa for All Saints Day. Here is a pic: https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/s960x960/14940098_10154714393227460_7476130738903363863_o.jpg

I LOVE the soft sister and Sister Theresa dolls. So beautiful! I just purchased everything for Christmas, so I’ll need to remember this for birthdays and future Christmas shopping.
I also love the tiny St. key chains! So sweet and fun for kids backpacks too.

Now a request for ABC Catholic… I searched high and low for appropriate gifts for my 12 year old God Daughter. She seems too young for the teen products and too old for most other things. Finally I decided on a devotional for tweens (not Catholic, so I’m previewing it first), a printable liturgical calendar from etsy, some gel pens and a journal. I think I’ll add a tiny St. key chain too, but I wish there were more options for the pre-teen Catholic.

ok i actually haven’t been able to sign up! Sorry I was on my phone entering and I didn’t want to skip around to all the pages and then back to comment so I just went ahead and posted with “signed up” while I was doing my previous comment. I immediately went to sign up for their newsletter and there were errors with too many people doing it so it wouldn’t let me. I just went back to try again and it still won’t let me. I really do want to be on their newsletter and will keep trying! haha so I don’t know where I stand on this second entry for the giveaway 😛
