Julia Dress from LulaRoe

Every so often, we chat fashion at Carrots. I hope it feels like going shopping with a friend, but not having to try on jeans….or leave your couch. I share a few pieces I love and my family members give their hilarious takes on each one.

Happy Friday! Fall weather just arrived in central Texas. And when I say fall weather, what I mean is highs in the  low 80s. So basically, we are now sweating less and it’s glorious.

So y’all, I’ve been hearing about LuLaRoe for the past year all the time. It seems like everyone I know is obsessed with their dresses and leggings and after trying out some of their pieces from Greta, a LuLaRoe consultant, I UNDERSTAND WHY. Holy cow, I love it all. No wonder it appeals to moms so much. It’s classy and modest and comfortable without being frumpy or boring. That’s my happy place.

So today I’m sharing some of the outfits I put together with LuLaRoe pieces as well as the Elizabeth & Clarke fall collection.  My long-suffering husband Daniel was thrilled to be photographing TWO collections instead of one this time.

Cracks. Me. Up.

Ok so Elizabeth & Clarke sent me a box of their fall collection. (And you can also check out my reviews of some of their previous collections.) If you’re not familiar with them, Elizabeth & Clarke is basically a subscription service for affordable designer-quality shirts that ships seasonally (every three months). They mostly have basics in neutral colors. And they offer full refunds on everything.

I paired most of the basic E&C tops with LuLaRoe pieces (known for their great prints) and I love how it worked out.

So here goes!

The Chambers Top from Elizabeth & Clarke and Cassie Skirt from LulaRoe

Top: c/o Elizabeth & Clarke, Skirt: LuLaRoe, Necklace: AromaCouture, Shoes: used from ThredUp

The Chambers Top from Elizabeth & Clarke and Cassie Skirt from LulaRoe

#1: The Chambers. This top is lovely. It’s simple, but the scalloping makes it pop.

Daniel’s take: “This makes me think you’re a fashion judge. Not like a judge of fashion. But a fashionable judge.”

The Chambers Top from Elizabeth & Clarke and Cassie Skirt from LulaRoe

#2: The Cassie Skirt from LuLaRoe. I’ve been desperately in need of some good versatile skirts. It’s the part of my wardrobe that has been lacking. And I’ve been on the hunt for a comfortable, pretty pencil skirt and this one is basically perfection. The length is perfect for Mass if I dress it up with a top like this one but it would also work great with a casual tee for everyday.

4yo Lucy’s Take: “It reminds me of Asian mountains.”

The McCord Top from Elizabeth & Clarke and the Madison skirt from LulaRoe

Top: c/o Elizabeth & Clarke, Skirt: c/o LuLaRoe , Sandals: used from ThredUP, Necklace: AromaCouture

#2: The McCord. I’m actually wearing this top as I type. I love it. I love the boatneck with the accents on the shoulders (hard to see in this photo). But the fabric is so soft and the top is so versatile.

3yo Gwen’s Take: “That shirt’s really nice.”

The McCord Top from Elizabeth & Clarke and the Madison skirt from LulaRoe#4: The Madison Skirt. Y’ALL. POCKETS. Why are pockets in skirts so splendid? One of the mysteries of life. I love this skirt. I wore it to Mass this past weekend. It’s so feminine and the print is delightful without being too loud for me.

The McCord Top from Elizabeth & Clarke and the Madison skirt from LulaRoeI just love the fit and the length.
Daniel’s Take: “I love that fabric. It makes me think of an interesting portrayal of the creation of the sea.”

The Branwell top from Elizabeth & Clarke

Top: c/o Elizabeth & Clarke, Skirt: Stitch Fix, Boots: used from ThredUP

#5: The Branwell. This is my favorite of the fall E&C collection. The color is to die for and the ELBOW PATCHES! Yes, please!

Daniel’s Take: “You should start always resting your elbows on the table to get your money’s worth out of those patches.”

And that does it for the E&C Collection but I’ve still got three more LuLaRoe pieces to show ya. So buckle up for a couple more minutes. Let’s start with leggings and then I’ll show you my FAVORITE piece at the very end.

LulaRoe Leggings

Leggings: c/o LuLaRoe, Top: c/o Pink Blush, Sandals: used from ThredUP

#6. LuLaRoe Leggings. So the thing I kept hearing about LuLaRoe is that their leggings are to die for. I am a huge fan of the leggings and tunic look and as a work-at-home mom, leggings and a top long enough to cover my bum is basically my momiform for the cooler months. I wear a lot of leggings. But Y’ALL, the LuLaRoe leggings live up to the hype. They are so comfortable and such quality. I am in love.

4yo Lucy’s Take: “They sorta look soooooft and smoooooooth and just pretty.”

LulaRoe Leggings and Classic Tee

Leggings: c/o LuLaRoe, Top: c/o LuLaRoe, Boots: used from ThredUP, Bag: Connected in Hope

And then these ones have FOXES on them. I mean, c’mon. I’m a little obsessed.

#7. Classic Tee. Absolutely love how this tee is long enough in the back to wear with leggings. That’s the dream.

4yo Lucy’s Take: “The shirt is pretty and I think that fox print is PRETTY CUTE.”

Julia Dress from LulaRoe

Dress: c/o LuLaRoe, Boots: used from ThredUP

#8: The Julia Dress. OK so this dress is PERFECT. I love the colors, I love the cut. The fabric is dreamy. It’s great for dressing up or down. Next Friday I’m going to be on a plane all morning and then giving a talk in DC (come and hang out if you’re in the area!–It’s at St. Peter’s on Capitol Hill) and I’m thinking this dress would be perfect for traveling and speaking. All the heart eyes!

The Julia Dress from LulaRoe

4yo Lucy’s Take: “I love this dress. And it kinda reminds me of the stars and leaves in a butterfly garden.”

So there you have it folks. What did you think of LuLaRoe? I’m a believer. Since they distribute through their consultants, you gotta get the hook up with somebody who does LuLaRoe. You can order through my friend Greta by joining her Facebook group. Just request to join and she’ll add you. Her online sales are every week on Wednesdays at noon (pst) until Thursday at 10pm (pst.) You can also follow her on Insta.

And lucky you! She’s offering Carrots readers a discount code of CARROTS for free shipping (for customers in the US)! The code will be good for first time customers.
And be sure to check out Elizabeth & Clarke’s Winter collection on their site. It’s gorgeous!

Wishing you a great weekend, friends!

Oooh I want to try LulaRoe – can I ask what size you found to work best for you? I think we’re pretty similar in sizing. I feel like smaller is better since they seem to be pretty flowy.
