Five Favorites: Household Supplies (and a Gift for You!)

I’m linking up with Rachel today for #5Faves on this fine Wednesday. I almost never am on top of things enough to do link ups on the right day but here I am sharing my five favorite household products that I order from ePantry every month!

Last fall as we were getting the house ready to put on the market, I was trying to figure out how to make my life easier and part of that meant not having to shop at more than one place. Because I hate shopping. Which is why I’m such a Stitch Fix fangirl. I don’t have to leave my house with three small children? Perfect.

I decided I wanted to draw the line at a weekly Trader Joe’s stop because making sure that the kids didn’t drive their junior customer mini carts into anyone’s Achilles tendon and bribing them in the checkout line with lollipops once a week is about all I can handle. The problem was that TJ’s doesn’t have a lot of household supplies and an additional trip to Target or another store for toilet paper, diapers, and dish soap with three kids in tow was making me crazy. And I kept forgetting to write it down when things ran out and then I ended up having to take ANOTHER trip because we had no shampoo. Or toothpaste. Or wipes. And then my brain would explode.

#5Faves from ePantry

But then I heard about ePantry and I love it forever. Basically, you an order household products and cleaning supplies for a great price and they ship it to you in a big box every month. And it’s all the brands I love like Mrs Meyers and Seventh Generation.

It’s easy to keep track of what you need for the next month and they do a great job of alerting you when it’s almost time to ship your box so that you can edit your cart and add or remove products. They also have awesome customer service and you can get any questions you might have answered in a chat box with a real person. Love it. I’ve been using it since October.

So here’s my #5Faves:

Seventh Generation Diapers and Wipes: When we’re not cloth diapering, these are my favorite, favorite diapers and wipes.

YesTo Eye Makeup Remover: Eye makeup remover always ends up stinging my eyes and this is the first one I’ve found that doesn’t! It has cucumber or something delicious in it to make it smell good and feel good.

Mrs Meyers Counter Top Spray: Gimme all your lavender. I love the way my kitchen smells after using this. (I also love the lavender scented dish soap and hand soap.)

Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent: I used to make my own detergent and I probably will again after the move but it was one of the things I let go when we put our house on the market. This one does the trick and I have to admit it’s been nice not grating bars of soap and melting them on my stove top.

Candles: The Grove Collaborative soy candles and the ePantry soy candles are delightful. I am a little obsessed with the Maple Sugar and Cinnamon ePantry scent.

Well, I know one thing that can help with the Mad Men situation: they’ve started showing the BBC adaptation of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norell, and it’s rather good! 🙂 (Sorry, I can’t help with the referral link, foreignia and all that).

I think Jonathan Strange will air in the U.S. in June! I can’t wait! It’s one of my favorite books.

I read it because of the podcast! So far, I am not disappointed, it’s very well done. The Man with the Thistledown Hair hasn’t got proper thistledown hair, but that’s about it 🙂

Haha! I’ll brace myself for the non thistledown-ness. 😉

Just placed an order and feeling swell! I hate shopping too! I have the same rule, I like to limit myself to Trader Joe’s and the occasional Target run 😉

I have been eyeing ePantry for weeks, but there’s nothing like giving someone I like a little referral credit to make me pull the trigger! 😉

Oh I am so in need of this! I firmly believe that shopping belongs in its rightful place–on the internet.

I love all these products too, but I have to say that e-pantry seems overpriced to me! We do Vitacost for most of these items, and I find it way cheaper. I do love making the laundry soap (and so does my five year old) so we do that together and I don’t mind the extra work, but we make it in big batches so it happens about once every two months or so. We also use Dr. Bronner’s soap for laundry which makes it more $$$ but not close to regular detergent. I did splurge on Honest diapers for a while, because I love them, but with a baby due yesterday we’ll be diapering for two so I’ve reverted to Target diapers. You guys live in the south, so I don’t know what’s up with the stores there, but locally our grocery stores (Giant and Wegmans) have all started carrying more green and natural products for cleaning, so that’s a win!!

I used your link from them a while ago and bought the Grove blood orange hand sanitizer. It’s my absolute favorite and I keep it next to the changing table for constant use.
