Bet you weren’t expecting a fashion post. That’s reasonable, since I’ve never written a fashion post. Probably because I don’t know anything about fashion (which is why I’m calling on you to help me out today.)
So, here’s the deal. After a year of eyeing Stitch Fix, I caved and made my first order. If you haven’t heard of Stitch Fix, it’s a personal styling service that picks out several clothing items just for you (after you answer questions about what styles you love) and mails them to your door. You try ’em on, decide which ones you want to keep, and send back any pieces you don’t want. There’s a $20 styling fee, BUT if you purchase any of the items, your styling fee will go toward the cost of the items you bought. You only pay for the items you want to keep. But if you purchase all five items, you get 25% off everything.
I’m not sure exactly what drew me in. Maybe it was simply the allure of new clothes. I rarely buy new clothes because I’m always changing sizes due to pregnancy. If I can get by with what I have, I will because clothes shopping really isn’t in our budget. Usually my friends and I do clothing exchanges and trade items we’re not wearing anymore (free clothes and decluttering!). But after not having any new clothes in a loooong time. I couldn’t resist.
And the contents did not disappoint. Not only were the items good quality, but I could tell that the stylist paid attention to my extensive comments about what I like and don’t like. I’m kind of hard to fit because I’m such a shorty and I have a smallish frame but then I’m curvy. It’s tricky to find a good fit and I was skeptical that ANYTHING would fit right.
I requested summery things (because Florida) but nothing I’d have to wear a strapless bra with because…ain’t nobody got time for that, right? And now I need your help deciding which items to keep! There were five items total. I LOVED one item and really liked two others. Two just weren’t flattering, so I’m definitely sending them back.
OK, check out the awkward photos that I made Daniel take of me in our backyard, and tell me which items to keep in the comments! If I was a real fashion blogger I would try on the pieces and accessorize them, but I don’t wear many accessories. I feel like the red lipstick and my miraculous medal are enough and I just go with it. Maybe someone should also teach me to accessorize.

Yes, I am that pale. Despite residing in sunny florida. Irish ancestry FTW!
OK, let’s get down to business:
ITEM #1: I really like this one. I love the colors and the pattern. I like the length and the cut. No bra straps show and it’s kinda fancy which is fun because I mostly wear t-shirts. Let’s check out the back, shall we?
What do we think, folks? I think I like it. It’s cool and breezy without showing too much skin. Maybe you can’t concentrate because you just can’t get over how someone can be this pale and live in Florida. It’s ok. I get it.
Daniel’s commentary: “I think it’s nice.”
And onward.
ITEM #2: This is a no, friends. The cut is just weird. There’s so much shirt on the sides and the horizontal stripes aren’t doing me any favors. Like it’s screaming, “These hips have born many a child!”
Furthermore, it doesn’t pass the bra strap test. I can’t handle wearing special bras for things. Goodbye, Item #2.
Daniel’s commentary: “I feel like it should just be….opposite.” Agreed.
ITEM #3: In addition to this one just being a tad boring, I don’t like the ruffly-ness in the front. Not flattering to the tummy area.
Daniel’s commentary: “I think it would be better if it was more gathered here.” (I think he meant empire waisted) “I kinda like the ruffles….well…hmm..nevermind, I don’t like them.”
ITEM #4: I like it. I think the neckline’s pretty and I like how it’s more fitted at the bottom. The material is comfy. But do I love it?
Won’t you please decide for me. Thank you, kindly.
Daniel commentary: “It looks like you’re going into hyperspace. In a good way.”
OK and the real winner:
ITEM #5: I LOVE this. It’s hard to find summery dresses that aren’t too short and aren’t strapless, spaghetti straps, or halters. And this one is just forgiving enough around the middle. Because, hello, three kids. These abs will forever be pouchy. But wouldn’t it be BETTER with…
…cowgirl boots? (Or are they just cowboy boots and cowgirls get to wear them? I should know this. I lived in Texas for six years…..aaaaaaanyhow) I think I’ve found my Edel outfit, y’all. Definitely keeping this one.
Daniel’s commentary: “It’s like a dress you’d wear on a wine tasting in the Hill Country. Texas Vacation. I like the boots.”
So….so…now you have to help me decide which of the other items to keep. We’re talking Item #1 or Item #4. Items 2 and 3 are definitely out. Should I just keep the dress? The dress and Item #1? The dress and Item #4? The dress and Item #1 AND #4?
I can’t decide whether Lucy or I have the most awkward fashion poses. She REALLY wanted to try on the Stitch Fix stuff, but I redirected her to my closet and she picked out this summery dress and a pastel scarf. This is what she does when I say, “smile.”
Ok, back to Stitch Fix. Here’s some pros and cons from the experience:
Pro: I get to try things on IN MY HOUSE. The idea of taking three children clothes shopping is just….unfathomable. But when I’m footloose and fancy free while the kids are with grandparents, I really don’t want to spend my time shopping because it’s honestly not an activity I enjoy. An hour all to myself? I want to go to a coffee house and write. Not in a fitting room under florescent lights.
Pro: High quality clothes and styles that I really like but might not have picked out myself.
Pro: Surprise clothes in the mail. Fun! What will be inside? Let’s just call it my Mother’s Day present to myself (is that allowed?)
Con: Pricier than my go-to clothing place: Target. They say their average price point is $55. 4/5 items in my fix cost less than that. However, the quality is definitely better than Target, so I guess you get what you pay for.
I think a pretty brilliant idea and I’d do it again. And no, I didn’t get free product or compensation for writing about Stitch Fix, I just ordered for fun and now I need your fashion input as I agonize over what to keep. So leave your advice in the comments!

I say keep 1, 4, and 5! The back on 1 is super cute and I like the details, so as long as you feel comfortable in it, go for it! I’m a StichFix user myself and the comments from Daniel reminded me of trying on items from my first Fix for my husband. One of the tops he took one look at and said, “You would never wear that,” and he was TOTALLY right. He knows me
StitchFix is a little more expensive than Target, but the thing I like most about them (other than not needing to leave home) is that they push me a little bit outside my comfort zone. One or two new pieces every now and then keeps things feeling fresh and is just enough! Enjoy!
Numbers 1 and 4 are both cute, but I think number 4 is better. Of course, get the dress. I love your boots!
Yup, I’m going to have to agree with you, Haley, (and Tacy and Amy)! Items #1, 4 and 5 look great on you!! I LOVE item #1 on you – that bright blue suits you! Like you, shopping has never been my favourite (and I think my fashion sense somewhat reflects that… hmm, maybe you don’t want my advice after all…), but this sounds like a good idea! Let us know what you choose!
I love #1, #4, and #5 on you! Keep them all! Especially if you don’t shop much.
I’ve been thinking about stitch fix too. I’m like you, the last thing I want to do when I get an hour or two out by myself is shop for clothes. Much rather hit up a coffee shop or book store. I definitely will have to give Stitch Fix a try sometime!
Definitely all three (#1, #4, #5) – my last Stitch Fix was around my birthday (October) and the same thing happened–I LOVED the dress I asked for, and wasn’t totally sure but thought I love two shirts. Every time I’ve worn them since, I have loved them more and more. And I don’t see them on anyone else, which is nice.

When my oldest son found out that one of the families in our homeschool group had never watched Mulan before, he brought our copy to the next meeting and sent it home with them. And then he politely asked them not to bring it back until they had watched it several times. Ha!

I love that dress so much! And with the boots? I squealed. None of my summer dresses work with nursing and I’m really sad about that. I’m as white as you and I live in Calfornia; it happens.
Definitely get #1. The blue looks fantastic with your hair, and is colorful and lively enough that you don’t need accessories. I wouldn’t get #4 unless it was uber cheap. But that’s me.
Keep the blue shirt. It’s a fantastic color on you and as you said, can be easily dressed up (silver accessories). And the dress is great. Cowboy boots–whether worn by a male or female, at least that’s what this Texan thinks.

Seriously, that blue shirt is the winner of all items of apparel in the whole wide world. I would burn all my current articles of clothing just to own that top.
Seconded. I love item one. The problem I’ve had with Stitch Fix the two times I used it was I felt like they didn’t listen to my input at all, and instead, decided I was probably lying about being a fat, doughy middle aged woman who’s had six kids, and sent me clothing more fitting for a 18 year old Victoria Secret model.
Buuuuut I’m just now realizing this post isn’t about me. So let’s move on and again offer out enthusiastic thumbs up for item one.

Long time reader, first time commenter!! I’ve wanted to try stitchfix forever! LOVE the first blue shirt! And #4 and #5 are total winners too. Give yourself some credit! You’ve got more fashion know-how than you think!!
#1 and the dress! Love them both! I like the style/fit of #4 but I am not a fan of the pattern.
I say dress and item #4–those are both the most flattering (I think the back+the patter on #1 is a bit much). I LOVE the dress on you!
definitely keep number 1! I love it so much! I think I might write to my Stitch Fix stylist and see if I can have that one too.
Number 4 is very nice, but I always get a little sticker shock and never keep 3 things.
I love the dress on you! I would wear a brown belt with it too. Your waist is good to accentuate that way. Also, dangly earrings.
Keep both #1 & 4. #1 is so cute!! And I think you can wear #4 year round. Especially in FL.
Get 1, 4 and 5! Number 4 was actually my favorite, and the other two were clearly good fits for you. If you’re not good with accessories, get a scarf (my four-year old Benjamin loves playing with my scarves when I wear them) or get some Bohemian jewelry that blends with at least two of your items. Heck, I’ll make you a necklace/earrings/bracelet for free, with stretchy cord, just to repay you for the last year of enjoyment reading your blog!
Because I’m frugal.. Keep #1. It would be a fashion tragedy if you sent it back (and please share the brand, because I want one!!!). And #5 is super cute. I never would have picked it out, but love it! Especially with the boots!
The #1 shirt is beautiful on you and I don’t think the back is too immodest or weird, just fun. The other shirt looks too warm for FL and the way it blouses in the midsection doesn’t do anything for your lovely figure. I think the dress would be much more flattering to your skin tones in a brighter color (like the first item) but if you love it, I say go for it! Enjoy your new things!!
Keep #1, #4, and #5! They will carry you through the colder days and the hot ones! Throw on a sweater or scarf and wa-la! #1 is a definite hit – that color is amazing on you Haley!
I love love love #1! The colors are great on you! The swallowtail back is a little odd, but I really think you carry it off nicely.
And I like #4. You look really good in it, which is the main criterion, right?
#5 to me is just eh, though the boots are a delightful accessory. To me, the colors are too washed-out for you. It’s kind of like somebody took your right arm tattoo and said, “Hey, let’s do something like this, but let’s water down the colors so that nobody will look at her dress but will think it looks like a pale commentary on the tattoo.” And to me, that isn’t helpful. But maybe it’s just me.
So I say #1 and #4 but NOT #5. And that idea is worth just as much as you paid for me to give it to you.
I agree with this comment completely. #1 and #4! 4 can go easily to fall. 1 is stunning. It would look awesome with some white skinny jeans and sparkly shoes for a night out. The dress is not well cut–too boxy–and too washed out. Fair damsels like you and me need strong colors usually. Your clothes need to stand up to the red hair.
I love #1 and #4, and of course #5 with those great cowboy boots! You look great in bold colors. I can relate to the difficulty of shopping as a short, curvy girl. When I find something that really, truly fits, I tend to snap it up, because I never know when it’s going to happen again! I’m a devoted Target shopper, too, and a big fan of their petite options online.
I would definitely keep #1!! The dress is cute too but my favorite is #1. #4 looks good on you too but seems warm for Florida. I’d probably send it back unless the price was really good.
That first top is MAGIC on you! The colors are fantastic and it’s super flattering. You should definitely keep it!
I love #1, but I need to know how nursing-friendly #1 and #4 are before I can weigh in… I find that even if I LOVE an item of clothing, I don’t reach for it often if it’s too much of a pain to nurse in!
Also, do you have a belt for that dress? I feel like it needs a belt, but I belt eeeeeeeeeeeeverything…
Ooo, #1 looks so, so good on you–perfect for your coloring and hair! The dress, obvi, is very cute. I wouldn’t get #4, just because it’s an odd shape, to my eye. Not that it’s not flattering, but I do find it weird that it’s tighter around the hips and a bit foofy at the tummy. But that just could be my more conventional approach to proportions.
Also, if you ever like a racer-back shirt like #2, I’ve heard you can kind of pull your bra straps together and tie them into a specialty bra position (with a hair tie, I think?). I’ve never tried it, but it seems like a good trick to know, since I’m like you and hate having to buy specialty bras.

I vote for #1 – great colors, good for the hot/humid weather, and it can be either dressy or casual. And if it gets a little cool or the back feels weird, a cotton tank underneath will solve that problem. Enjoy whichever one you keep!

You are eternally cute! I love all of them! You could wear a “fun” colored bra for the showing bra problem. Or wear a tank under it. Since it has all that fabric, it would probably look great with leggings. Just a thought. I love clothes!
Definitely keep 1, 4, and 5! Number 1 is my personal fave – I love the detailing and fit on the back! And good call on the cowboy (cowgirl? I lived in Texas for 4 years too, and I don’t know either!) boots!
I like #4, but the dark color and longer sleeves make this seem too autumnal to wear anytime soon. Send it back and spend the money on something you love.
I do like #1. It would be great with white skinny jeans and strappy wedges for a date night.
#5 seems super versatile, which makes it a winner in my book. And most importantly, you look like you enjoy wearing it, which means it won’t get shoved to the back of your closet until the next clothing swap. A few styling suggestions:
– With flip flops, a floppy hat, and sunglasses it’s perfect for the playground.
– Try adding a wide woven belt.
– I would probably style it with a cardi and pumps for Mass, but I’m preppy like that.
One potential concern, can you nurse in it?

I LOVE #4! I agree with you about #2 and #3, but my three favorites on you in order are #4, #5, #1 for what it’s worth, but there’s a reason I don’t blog about fashion!
Definitely #1, the Blue looks great on you, plus the back is pretty awesome. If you love the dress keep it but honestly not my favorite. Also, if you ever find a shirt that you love but have a bra issue the dollar store sells bra clips in various colors that helps turn your regular bra into a t-back and other styles too. I’m not one to buy new bras just for the straps, plus breastfeeding makes bra shopping difficult at this point in my life, so I just use these. My pack had four different colors in it so they are easy to hide.
What a fun post! I think you should just keep the dress that you LOVE. I find that if I don’t LOVE something, it goes unworn. Not that I love everything I wear….it’s complicated
I think everything looks great on you though! For me, I lean towards comfortable, natural fibers, so out of this mix I probably only would have kept the one you hated, with the ruffles 
And I agree, look for a brown belt for that dress, to go with your boots. Awesome!
And a note on target– I get sucked in by their cute clothes and cheap prices, but then 2 washes later the item falls apart! So I try really hard not to buy clothes there, even though I also can’t afford to buy the organic/handmade stuff that I would like to support. Sigh…. What’s a girl to do? Maybe I’ll check this Stitch Fix out, thanks!
Item #1 is a must, I think. It seems to really fit your personality. Item #4 is nice and wouldn’t be bad if you really need another blouse, but I don’t think it’s aasss awesome.
I’d definitely say all three! (Your love item, and the two like items). They all look really great on you, and a momma deserves a few cute new items now and then
I definitely agree that you should keep items #1 and #4. They are very flattering and look useable. Also, the first top looks like its from Anthropologie! Very funky and cute. If nothing else, at least keep item #1.

I love #1! I love the colors and patterns, but they aren’t too out there. And it looks great on you! Very flattering. And looks like enough material to be able to breast feed. Another plus ;). Not to mention the back is super cute. And all this and it’s still modest and pretty!!!
I don’t claim to be a fashionista either, but #1 looks FABULOUS on you. The color is superb and really makes your face pop, I think. I love the shirt, and the cut looks awesome on you. KEEP IT!
I really like the dress, but I LOVE the two shirts, especially number 4! So, I think you should keep all three.
Also, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and beautiful in what you’re wearing and since you Love the dress it sounds like those requirements are being met. However, I agree with Melissa that the colors Kinda wash you out so, I would just add a bright or earth tone belt to sort of ground the outfit and pull everything together. (Earth tone with the boots–which are freakin’ awesome, btw–and bright green or something when you want to wear heels or sassy flats.)
A fun bracelet or two might also add some… I don’t know… contouring(? does that make sense?) with your tattoo. The smallest addition can say “Yes. I’m doing this on purpose. Aren’t I interesting? ;)”

I couldn’t read them all and I really don’t mean to be rude at all, I LOVE #1 and #5 on you, but #4 looks a little maternity to me, maybe it’s the pattern or the cut, is it tight on the hips but loose on the waist? Wierd combo to me. But yes #1 was definitely my favourite of all, beautiful colour!!!!
Agree with most others…keep items 1, 4, and 5. I love 4…you could even wear that in the winter with a pair of leggings. Super cute!
1 and 4 are my faves. I am obsessed with color. 5 is a great length, cut, and fit, but it appears faded, like it washes you out a little. Maybe with a bright scarf or jean jacket? Or some tanner? I kid! I kid! I have had some great luck with Stitch fix, cannot wait to order post partum clothes from them!
I love number 1! I think it’s my favorite (I might even like it better than the dress.) I would say to definitely go with number one and the dress.

I say #1, 4, AND 5. The blue top (#1) was actually my favorite of the bunch. I think you look awesome in it. And if you want to accessorize, a pack of bangle bracelets from Target would probably give you a really cute finished look. Yea for new clothes!
I love both of the shirts you’re unsure about, but I think #1 is my favorite. It looks so comfortable, but yet absolutely gorgeous!

Love both the tops you like, you look amazing in them! The dress is cute too, but I think the shirts are the most flattering.
Also, adore your jeans. What brand are they? Now that I have taken the plunge and wear skinny jeans, I have trouble finding ones that fit well. I am also petite but actually have hips, which jean-makers don’t seem to understand.
Definitely one and four! When we have some money, I will definitely be using this… I don’t like clothes shopping and have very little style sense.
So..my personal opinion…a bit different than everyone else’s. But it’s just an opinion, so take it as you will.
#1 – Love the color, loved the print, but hate the split in the back. It makes me think of tuxedo tails…or a blue lobster claw. But don’t let that deter you if the split doesn’t bother you. Just saying…if it were me, that would drive me ca-RAZY.
#2 – Again, love the blue, and although it may be a “lot of shirt”, I don’t think it looks oversized on you; and as far as the bra thing, put a cardigan over it. Done. Problem solved. Or try it with a cardigan – see if that changes your mind?
#3 – Didn’t really see anything wrong with this one, other than it being a little plain in the color department.
#4 – From the side, I like this one, but from the front, it doesn’t look tummy flattering. Not that you have an unflattering tummy, but that seemed to be something you were worried about, and this one seems to remove any figure you have..maybe it’s the pattern.
#5 – I know you like this one, so I’m hesitant to be honest, but you did ask for honesty. I don’t like it. At all. It would be my first veto. I think the colors look faded and really wash you out. I know you’re pale (trust me, I am too, and I grew up in CA), but that’s why I say it. I don’t like pale things because they exaggerate my paleness – I would say the same to you. The cut looks really tired too. Sorry! But really. Just what I think.
So! I would say….#1, 2, and 3. I would forget 4 and 5. I don’t know if that was helpful at all, but there ya go. Good luck!

I don’t know anything about fashion either, so maybe dont listen to me, but i liked them all on you. I am kinda boring, so that could be why. But, #4 is actually my absolute favorite! I say keep #1, #4, and #5!
Also, I love that you are pale and live in FL. It makes me feel better about my Irish ancestory pale skin, because you really pull it off. I mean, I live in MN, there are more pale people here- but I still much more pale than most everyone I meet. It doesn’t help that my (soon-to-be) in-laws are also Mexican. Way to rep for pale girls everywhere.

Secondly, I think you and I have a similar body shape so I agreed with your standards and commentary about all the pieces.
The only thing is that I think I am WAY more enthusiastic about #4 than you! That is the most flattering of all the pieces on you in my opinion! It is so feminine, accentuates your shape, and looks very comfy!

Keep #1 and the dress. I think you are being far too hard on yourself here. You picked out the only two items here that were classically styled. The #4 top has a pattern that creates stress, you don’t need any more of that. It really helps if you set some yourself some narrower criteria. You already know it needs to cover your bra straps etc, so fill that out a little more: if you are petite in height, it needs to be a certain length, have a little pattern (you seem to like that), be cut to flatter your figure, be something loose enough to lift to nurse, those sorts of things. Once you establish your criteria you will know best what to look for. Here is the real key to fashion: you will have to try on at least ten things to find one that really works. Also: this is not the season of your life to be hard on yourself over this. Your Easter outfit was adorable!

#4 doesn’t do you justice, in my humble opinion. Oh and don’t apologize for being a Florida girl with a ‘moon tan’. Decades in the future, when you tell the truth about your age and everyone is incredulous because your creamy skin is still smooth and flawless, you will be very glad for those fair genes!
I LOVE the first shirt! Keep that for sure. I like Item #4 as well, but I’m not crazy about the dress. I think it washes you out. You’d need a bright cardigan to go with it. Maybe red or royal blue. The boots look darling with it, though.

A year ago with one kid and a full-time job, the appeal of clothes sent to my home would have been completely lost on me. Now that I’m a SAHM to 3 darlings, I totally get. Just like you said, when I do get a chance to fly solo (pretty rare!), shopping is one of the last things I want to be doing. This explains why I’ve far exceeded staying within the budget for clothing. I think I’ve bought myself only a few shirts in the past year. You’ve really made this look fun…maybe I need to do some clicking around as well.
I like #1 and the dress. #4 is a great piece that you can mix up, but for me it would depend on how much it costs. If I spend more money on a top, I usually try to make it something I couldn’t get at target.

1 is nice, keep it. Number 5 is ok, but indeed, not such a good colour for you… too pale. Maybe you can ask them to find you the same sort of dress in a stronger colour? I really like to see 4 on you, it looks great! Nice lines, good colour, your skin, hair, lips, all come out very nicely. Very Amsterdam item I think! Good luck with choosing!

Haley, I’m a recent reader, but I have to say I LOVE that you did this. A little fun mixed in with all the Catholic mom things that are so great. I absolutely adore the top (#1) and I love the dress on you. I could give or take on #4. It is flattering, I’m just not normally a fan of those gathered at the waist shirts. And now I want to try stitch fix!!! With two children at home, one who his 3 and non-verbal… going into dressing rooms does not happen.
P.S. I read A Girl of the Limberlost after reading one of your posts and I am so happy!! I loved it. I can’t believe I missed it. I am a big reader (Literature major) and I love Flannery.

I love, love, love #1 on you. The colour & pattern really suit your coloring. It’s fresh & vibrant, strong colours really suit us pale skin girls. It took me a really long time to realise that….. Into my 30’s
Totally right on #2 & # 3. Blah. I have enough trouble finding a comfy, supportive, half attractive bra without it having to do 5 other things as well.
#4 could be quite versatile, skinny jeans or denim skirt -casual, tailored black pants – smart, ,a black skirt that is a little bit flowy could dress it up for a party or date night.
I’m not convinced about the dress you love, but that could be because I don’t ‘really’ know you. I think the colour washes you out a little & there is something wrong with the pattern down the front seam, it doesn’t match up & i just personally couldn’t live with that, because I am a seamstress.
I think the shape & style suit you & it is a great casual dress & looks fab with sandals or boots. Very cowgirl.
But you know, you have to go with what you love, because you’ll be wearing it. Xo Jayne

I LOVE #1!! Definitely keep it. The color is beautiful on you. The dress is great too. I can go either way on #4. It’s definitely cute, but I’m not in love with it like I am with #1 and the dress.
I love all three, #1, #4, and #5. I want you to keep all three, but if you can only keep two of them, then I have to choose #1 to go along with your definite pick, #5. They make the most sense for summertime in Florida. Although, I love everything about #4. And can you get #5 in like every color and pattern it comes in because it looks amazing on you.
I’m with all the #1 top votes. Absolutely love that top, and I think it’s super versatile (as you mentioned.) While #4 looks great on you, I don’t vote for it because it seems far less versatile to me (mostly because I feel like a cardi or blazer on top would look weird). Either way, so glad you reviewed stitch fix! I was concerned about the quality of the clothes they sent out, and your perspective helps a lot.
I like both pieces a lot. I think if I were only picking one though, I would go with the one with sleeves. I seem to run into the same problem you mentioned with strapless bras with sleeveless shirts–every time I want to wear one I realized I have not shaved! Ha. But your lifestyle is probably different than mine in your climate.
Also, back to bras…I notice that #1 actually does have straps set in a bit and you mentioned being able to wear a regular bra with it. I feel quite certain that mine would show. Do you have one of those nifty bras where the straps are “mounted” a little bit further in than the average bra? I need that I think…

Sorry, but number 5 is ugly. The boots look good, but not the dress. Number 4 is the best. I’d take a chance on no. 1, too, although the shirt tail is a little iffy.

Hi- I’m a bit of a lurker here so ignore me if you want- I love the ones you like #1,4 & 5(and I’m totally with you on the horizontal stripe thing…eek!)
My one thing is that the pic where you can see your bra straps made me do a double take because (and I realize I sound odd here) I think you need a bra fitting. I’m not saying this to be mean (and I understand the up & down thing with breast feeding and kids and life) but the way the strap/band looked in that pic (just where they connect) that a bra fitting might help you get things that fit and look flattering all around (not that they don’t).
I’m saying this because about 3 years ago I was wearing bras from Target/Walmart/any place that was on sale and thought they looked fine (I’m busty and chubby) but my back and that corner (the strap/band/armpit corner) was never letting things sit right on me if I changed my bra- finally my mom brought me to a real bra fitter (we have one in our town- usually the FANCY department stores (Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom) have them- the lady asked me where I was sized last- I had done it, previous to that Lane Bryant had done it, prior to that Victoria’s Secret had. She said that having a friend/spouse do it is better than doing it yourself (apparently just like when you try to measure for clothes the actual measurement gets kinda lost when you look to see what it is) or a place that actually trains their people to measure for bras for more than 15 minutes (it may not be true of all VSes but it is of the ones around where I live). A lot of places will measure you for free (if its a department store) or will measure you for a small fee ( the lady in town costs $30 which is deducted off if you buy a bra from her store.
I’m also a hater of bra straps and have found a series of strapless and convertible strap bras (2 from walmart that I can completely remove the straps from and years of them from LB and at least 1 from Target that I can unclip the straps on the back band and cross them) that are AMAZING to hide straps in a shirt like #2 (which you could rock anyway). I have just found (along with my mom & sister) that a properly fitted bra can change your life… or at least the outlook on your closet.
You may think I’m over stepping or inappropriate- I just want everyone to be happy & comfortable in their clothes… old & new.
TL;DR: Yay your choices- a bra fitting might be a good idea; well fitting undergarments=well fitting clothes
Oh my goodness, #1 is stunning! Definitely keep that one! Also, the dress is super sweet and looks great with the boots! As far as #4- it’s cool but I would say only keep it if you love it. I’ve spent so many years buying clothes I “kind of” like and then never wearing them! I’ve made a new rule to only buy clothes that I love and if you don’t love it, pass it up and then in your next box there will be something you really love again.
Item #4 is a big huge YES. And item #1 is a yes as well, in that order!

I might have to try out this StichFix thing-a-ma-jigger. I hate shopping and dragging several Littles around with me makes it 100x worse. My wardrobe of jeans, cardigans, t-shirts, the odd skirt (from highschool! agh!) is not really cutting the mustard anymore

I’m a fairly new follower of yours & Daniel’s blogs; loved the story of your family vacay in NOLA. I have a totally different story about my family’s trip there about 10 years ago.
It’s summed up well, however, in the answer our son gave us to the question, “what’s your favorite part of our trip to New Orleans?” and his immediate response was, “Room service.”
Meaning, I hate this place and the only reason I will ever leave the hotel again is to GO HOME!”

I’ve been using stitch fix for almost a year and #2 was in my last box as well. I thought it was just awful! It fit awkwardly and I thought it was way too expensive for a tank top. On the bright side #1 is absolutely amazing! Keep that one for sure!

#5 It is soft and feminine and it carries that personality. However, the sandels look nice, feminine, put-together, the cowboy boots? personal opinion, ruins the whole look and doesn’t “match what I see of your personality
I also agree that the color on #5 washes you out,
but the woven darker colored belt would be a perfect fix..
