The site is back up with ALL the posts, yay! You might not have noticed, but some of the recent posts and comments disappeared this week, causing me to have a minor freak out. The site has been getting so much traffic (thank you for sharing posts!) that I had to switch over to a bigger host that could handle all that traffic. But there were a couple of glitches in the process and I’m sorry you couldn’t access some of the recent posts. Should all be working now!
And since the site was down I wasn’t able to share that I wrote a piece for Kitchen Stewardship on gluten-free cooking survival this week. Yay alternative flours!
The Feast of Our Lady of La Leche
We are headed to St. Augustine today to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of La Leche tomorrow. I love St. Augustine. We visited on our honeymoon and then went back for our sixth anniversary (super cute baby Lucy pictures, folks). Anyhow, I’m thrilled to be going back and I would love to prayer for your intentions at the Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche, especially for those suffering from infertility or struggling with nursing troubles. You can leave a comment or email me privately (haley.s.stewart@gmail.com).
The Quotable Munchkins:
“Fighting is not a fun game.” – Lucy (age 2)
Benjamin, expert chicken catcher. Seriously, he’s lightning fast when one of the little stinkers escapes the coop.
I love overhearing the big kids talking in their room when they’re supposed to be sleeping. Last night it was Benjamin teaching Lucy about zombies.
Benjamin: “They’re kind of like dead aliens that come back to life. But it doesn’t really happen. I mean if someone was actually brought back to life…like a miracle…they wouldn’t be a zombie. Zombie’s aren’t real. They’re just dead guys moving’ around, not exactly good or bad, but anyhow, they’re just made up so you don’t have to worry about them.”
Lucy: “When I die, I won’t be a zombie.”
Benjamin: “Yeah, I think you’ve got the idea now, Lucy.”
As if she could ever be a zombie. What a sweetie pie.

Hi Haley, would you please pray for a new baby for our family? We’ve been trying for a while and our only conception ended in an early miscarriage last week. The desire for a sweet little bundle to join our two sons has been on my heart for a long time and I’m feeling like it won’t ever happen. God bless you, and have a lovely trip : )

So many of your links are articles I, too, loved this week!!! Well, Modern Mrs. Darcy is always one of my favorites. 🙂
I really enjoyed your piece over at Kitchen Stewardship this week! Lots of great tips and advice.

I have read your blog for a while and never commented, but I had to today to say that we will be at the shrine tomorrow, too! There will be Mass at 11 from what I heard. Anyway, I guess I will be keeping my eyes open so I can recognize your sweet family and stare awkwardly and maybe smile and point you out to my husband, who probably won’t understand the big deal…

How cool! I’m not sure what time we’ll be there. I think we’re going to the 5pm vigil Mass at the cathedral. But please keep an eye out and come over and say hello!!!!

I love the kid-quotes. They made me laugh today!

Hi Haley,
I happened upon your blog several months ago and have been enjoying every bit of it. Thanks especially for all your insight into motherhood and raising strong Catholic children. After 4.5 years of infertility, discovering Creighton NFP, going through oodles of testing/trial & error, and finally a NaproTechnology surgery, our little girl is 3 weeks old today! Praise God.
I would love to request a prayer for our continued success in nursing; we’ve had a few road bumps in the past week, but with my stubbornness and a goal of nursing at least the first year, I push through the pain and tiredness. Sometimes all it takes is letting the tears fall while praying–Our Lady Undoer of Knots is the novena that we completed at the same time as conception, so there are certainly lots of Hail Mary’s being said.

Prayers for my friend Kelli. Her baby came 5 weeks early and is healthy but small & still struggling with congestion & nursing at 9 weeks old. She is a serious cluster feeder and crier! I love your TWM posts. The quotes & pics of your kiddos are adorable!!

Hi Haley! It would be awsome if you’d remember my husband and myself in prayer at the shrine. We have been suffering from infertility for a little over 6 years now (I’ve never been able to conceive). Please pray that we are able to discern God’s will for us going forward, regarding medical treatment and/or adoption. Thanks so much!

Okay, random string of comments:
1. Your kids are adorable. It might be the pregnancy talking, but gosh I just gush over little kids!
2. The links you posted this week are amazing! Read just about every one and was moved!
3. Bonnie’s Autumn in the Home is making me want to run to Pier One (or more realistically Target) and spend an insane amount of money on fall décor. I am terrible at actually doing decorating, but gosh to I LOVE looking at other people’s homes, warm and inviting! haha
