Every so often, we chat fashion at Carrots. I hope it feels like going shopping with a friend, but not having to try on jeans….or leave your couch.

Happy Friday! We’re going to Austin for the weekend (first time since we moved back to TX!) but before we head out, I wanted to post some fashion fun complete with my husband Daniel’s always enthused commentary. Because why not?

Elizabeth & Clarke offered to send me a box of their winter collection and since I loved their fall collection I said, yes, please! Elizabeth & Clarke is basically a subscription service for affordable designer-quality shirts that ships seasonally (every three months). They mostly have basics in neutral colors. And they offer full refunds on everything.

So here goes!

The Scott Top from the Elizabeth & Clarke 2015 Winter Collection

Top: c/o Elizabeth & Clarke

Item #1: The Scott Top. Love the fit, love the fabric. And to keep it from being a tad TOO basic the interesting neckline wins.

I’ve also been layering it under everything because it’s the perfect weight.

Fun neckline FTW!

Daniel’s Take: “What’s going on with the neck? Looks like they forgot to finish sewing it.”

Ok, moving on.

The Cooper Top from the Elizabeth & Clarke 2015 Winter Collection

Top: c/o Elizabeth & Clarke, Jeans: c/o Stitch Fix, Glasses: Firmoo, Shoes: Lucky Brand

Item #2: The Cooper Top. The fabrics from Elizabeth & Clarke always feels dreamy and this piece is no exception.

You’d THINK that this is a sweater layered over a button up, wouldn’t you? Oh my goodness, you’re so wrong. SO WRONG. This is a one piece item, folks. Dress up that momiform.

Daniel’s Take: “It’s a grey sweater and a shirt, I dunno. Oh it’s just one shirt? Well. That’s convenient.”

The Carson Vest from the Elizabeth & Clarke 2015 Winter Collection

Vest: c/o Elizabeth & Clarke, Coat: Delia’s (oh my gosh, remember Delia’s?!), Pants: Stitch Fix, Shoes: Clarks

Item #3: The Carson Vest. I have been wearing this vest non-stop since cold weather arrived in Texas and have gotten so many compliments on it.

It’s kind of quirky and asymmetrical and not at all like something I would have picked out myself. But I LOVE it.

Daniel’s Take: “Very fashion. But the light brown color makes it not TOO fashion.”

So there you have it folks. What did you think of Elizabeth & Clarke?  Be sure to check out their lovely spring collection.

The sweater/shirt combo is awesome! Because real button-downs under sweaters always end up bulky and weird and I don’t like the collars. The collarless neckline on that one makes it more relaxed! But not frumpy. I want it.

Yes! I hate the bumps they make under sweaters. Button-downs and I have a strained relationship.

So those big circles of light on the pictures, sometimes it seems to me that those show up when someone you love on the other side is near you. Have you felt the love of one in the Communion of Saints recently?

Sending hugs, btw on fashion, you are just cute as a bug. Wear whatever makes you feel good and you will shine from within.

That coat though. Perfect color. I’ve tried stick fix before and it hasn’t been the greatest. Time to try again.

I’ve learned to be VERY specific about my likes and dislikes and typically I get a fantastic fix. Maybe once a year I get one that I don’t love. Worth trying again!

Wow these are all really great pieces! I especially love that you’re rocking that vest with the Delia’s (blast. from. the. past.) coat! You look great!

      Thanks, haha! Delia’s. I can’t believe I still own something from Delia’s.

Everything looks great but I’m never comfortable myself with clothes that pretend to be something they’re not, such as the sweater that has pieces of shirting sewn on. Feels fakey to me
What I really wanted to say is how lovely you look with your hair longer, rather than in bangs; now that was a brilliant fashion move!

Haha! Clothes that pretend to be something they’re not sounds so sneaky! But yes, I totally know what you mean. Like shirts that look like a long-sleeved undershirt with a t-shirt on top that are really just a t-shirt with attached arms. And thank you! But I am terrible at sticking with a style and have been really itching to chop it all off again and dye it a ridiculous color. Hold me back!
