Spring is absolutely flying by, friends! Let’s hit the high points.

We’re trying to buy a house here in Texas! I already shared the news with the Carrots newsletter subscribers (psst! sign up if you want to get secret posts I don’t share on the blog). It’s been pretty stressful but our offer was accepted and there’s no expected complications. So if all continues to go well, we’ll have somewhere to live when Daniel’s internship is up. Yay!

Easter was awesome.

I can’t believe it’s been since before Holy Week that I had a chance to do a TWM! On Good Friday, Benjamin had his First Confession. It was just amazing to help prepare him and Daniel and I are SO proud of him! His First Holy Communion is tomorrow. I can’t believe it!

We survived another Easter Vigil with all three kiddos. Gwen didn’t fall asleep like I hoped she would, but it was a beautiful and joyful night.photo 1-12

I took a much needed weekend trip to Fredericksburg, TX for a blogging mini-conference with some other Catholic bloggers (organized by the fantastic Becky and Kate).

And I got to see some friends from college that I hadn’t seen in ages.

I still feel very refreshed from being around those wonderful, inspiring ladies.

One of our closest farm friends (and one of my team members in my essential oils business) is off to bigger and better things and moving to Indiana tomorrow now that she’s done with her internship. Wah! We’re so sad. Kaley has been such a wonderful part of our farm family and we’ll miss her so much.photo 2-9

She taught Benjamin all about raising meat rabbits and how to butcher them. He raised his own rabbit for the past couple of months and helped her with the whole butchering process. He was so responsible and grown-up about the whole process. I was so proud of him and all he has learned about taking care of animals, raising his own meat, and treating animals with dignity. I was worried he would be emotional about the butchering but he was ALL BUSINESS. And yes, he wears that helmet all the time because it’s awesome. #homeschooling #sustainabilityskills

Podcasts:

We kept it real on the Fountains of Carrots podcast with Ginny Sheller of Small Things talking all about conversion, kids in Mass, and the challenges of Catholic life.

We also discussed the beautiful novel All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr in our most recent book episode.

I really enjoyed listening to Tsh Oxenreider’s most recent Simple Show episode about raising kids on Harry Potter.

Those girls with their bangs though. I can’t get over how different they make them look. So sweet! And YOUR hair is getting so super long!

I just LOVE their bangs! I might need to give them a trim in the near future. I am itching to cut my hair all off again, but trying to persevere! Haha.
